INTRODUCING AMERI-MED BILLING SERVICES:
Ameri-Med is a family owned business. If you call the number on your statement, you will be speaking to one of these friendly faces, pictured from left to right: Betty, Sheila, Barbara (owner), Barbara's Mom, and Jill.
MEET RENTHIA STRICKLAND:
We are pleased to feature Renthia Strickland, our Clinical Director and Technician Team Lead for the last two years. Renthia coordinates and oversees all of our certified Ophthalmic Techs and Medical Assistants-a total of 13 staff members!
Renthia is a Certified Ophthalmalic Assistant and Scrub Technician. She has been in Ophthalmology since 1989, when she says: "I grew to love something that I never realized had so much depth!"
Half Choctaw, half Irish, born in Houston, Texas, Renthia married and moved to Mississippi where she raised three children on a dairy farm. Her daughter Rhonda has followed in her footsteps, and is one of our diagnostic technicians and a medical assistant here at Pacific Eye Associates. Renthia also has a son who is a surveyor and a son who is serving our country in Iraq, on his second tour of service.
MEET RHONDA KALIS:
Part of our "mother-daughter" team here at Pacific Eye Associates, Rhonda Kalis has been in Ophthalmology for the past 11 years as a diagnostic technician and medical assistant.
Rhonda performs many of the various tests given here at Pacific Eye, and started assisting in ophthalmology at the age of 19 years old. At her first interview she was asked: "What do you know about eyes?" Rhonda responded: "I know you have two!" She then worked for five years as an assistant to a general ophthalmologist in Florida. Rhonda's particular field of interest is the retina and she is continually fascinated by new research.
Rhonda was born in Alabama and raised on a dairy farm in Mississippi, then spent her teenage years on a beach along the Gulf of Mexico. She is very athletic, loves softball, and was a professional bowler for one year at the age of 18! Rhonda lives here in San Francisco with her husband, Paul.
Rhonda says: "I love caring for patients and feel that everyone should have the very best of care-period!".
